About Me
Hi! I’m Francesco, the founder of Equal Access Technology Services. I utilize my background in computer science and experience teaching assistive technology, to help individuals and organizations bridge the gap between technology and accessibility. My mission is simple: to make technology usable, inclusive, and empowering for everyone.
Skills & Expertise
My expertise covers a wide range of assistive technology tools, including JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion. I work with both screen magnification and screen readers, as well as Braille and Braille display integration. I also have a deep understanding of Windows accessibility features, enabling me to help clients adapt standard devices to meet their specific needs. I am always learning about new tools and software to help my clients.
In addition to direct training, I provide accessibility and compliance services. This includes evaluating websites for accessibility, creating VPATs, and remediating documents to meet WCAG and Section 508 standards. My goal is to help organizations create inclusive digital spaces that meet legal requirements and serve all users equally.
I also provide training and support in productivity and workplace tools. I specialize in teaching blind and low-vision users how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint effectively in professional and educational environments. Besides Microsoft Office, I will teach you whatever YOU are interested in, or require for YOUR success!
Finally, my technical background in programming and software development allows me to design custom solutions when standard tools aren’t enough. I’ve created specialized applications and provided personalized training that help clients achieve independence and confidence with their technology.
Notable Work
One of my most rewarding projects was developing a mobile application that allowed a visually impaired client to scan barcodes and hear product numbers read aloud at work. This solution removed the need for additional vision tools and enabled her to work independently with greater efficiency.
I have also designed and taught multiple courses specifically tailored for JAWS screen reader users. This course gave students practical, workplace-ready skills in data management and analysis, opening doors to new employment opportunities.
Beyond individual instruction, I have worked with organizations to evaluate websites and remediate digital documents to meet accessibility standards. These efforts not only improve compliance but also ensure that businesses can better serve their customers, employees, and communities.
Equally important, I’ve spent over 1500 hours providing one-on-one and group instruction to individuals with varying levels of vision loss. These sessions often go beyond technical training—they help clients build independence, confidence, and a sense of empowerment through accessible technology.
Education & Certifications
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Penn State university, with a minor in Mathematics. I also am a DHS certified Trusted Tester, and I hold the JAWS 2025 Certification. I am currently pursuing extra certifications and working on my skills, to always be improving for our clients.
Impact
Through my work, I’ve supported individuals with vision loss in gaining independence, confidence, and workplace readiness. At the same time, I’ve helped organizations strengthen accessibility, reduce barriers, and better serve all users. I believe that accessible technology benefits everyone, and I’m committed to making inclusion a standard—not an afterthought.
